While in line for a show, we heard voices drifting all the way back to
us that would have made the Merriam-Webster people weep: “It was an
awesome bar, totally cute and homey.” “You mean homely.” “What?” “It’s
‘homely,’ not ‘homey.'” “Really?” “Yeah. You wouldn’t say ‘homey,’
because, like, the bar isn’t your homie.” “Huh. Homely, then. Wow. Who
knew? I’ve been saying ‘homey’ all these years.”
