This show was set against the backdrop of the city itself and paired with performance art by Marina Abramovic, a spectacle that the great Cathy Horyn said worked to “sensual” effect. While I have no doubt that the whole experience was at the very least enthralling, the remainder of that reality — the bits that are left behind, once the pomp and circumstance is being swept up by a janitor’s broom — are the photos. And the clothes contained therein just feel like more of the same.
