Ah, this movie. I will always run with it if it’s on TV, even though I have never seen one character require SO MANY pep talks. It’s just an ENDLESS string of people suggesting she suck it up and deal, and she repeatedly does not, until finally her very patient surf competitor talks her through it for like half an hour and coerces her into riding good wave and then BOOM we have a new Billabong cover girl. But, hey, the music is catchy, and Kate Bosworth’s career shot up as a result, and then… immediately began a slow decline, really, which is a shame because she is utterly adorable in it.
