Golden Globes Fug or Fab: Sienna Miller

fug-or-fab

Remember the hey-day of Sienna Miller, when she was EVERYWHERE? Like this time she actually went in costume as Edie Sedgwick to an event where she would be seeing Anna Wintour? Or that time she was ravaged by wolves? Or OMG REMEMBER THIS? What a crazy disast. Anyhoodle, then she went away and like everyone who annoys me who goes away, I eventually grew to miss her cray-cray, and now I am kind of glad she’s back. I also kind of don’t hate this. IS THAT CRAZY? Maybe I caught it from her.

It looks better in pictures than on TV, where it looked mostly like a hot mess.

It looks like a shower curtain.

This puts me in mind of something that Marcia Brady would have worn to an awards ceremony if Marcia Brady had ever been nominated for a major industry award. I don’t know why, but it does. And I kind of like it.

The only thing to be said for the GG dress is that it’s better than what she had on the day before.

What the what with the sticky outie things and also – what the what with the fabric? And if this looks “better”? Woah…

I agree. When I saw this last night it looked like the flowerdoozles were going to fall off. Why are there 3d flowers on this?. It is so twee and so ugly. Her face looks fantastic, though.

I swear I wore a dress length version of this for Easter — when I was seven.

    I’m horrified by it.

Maybe if she wore a turban and went as LiLo doing La Liz it would work? Nah.

The first thing is an adorable summer daytime outfit. It’s all wrong here, and thus looks a little crazy.

The satin thing from the previous day… well, she’s pretty small. Is it possible she actually, literally raided a twelve-year-old’s closet?

Looks like that cardboard paper towel tube… you know, with the last paper towel stuck on there half way and shredding when you tug on it. Even has a cute little paper towel pattern!

I want to make a sound judgement on her Globe dress, but I’m too distracted by how she’s standing. I want to tell her to straighten her shoulders very, very badly.

I think it’s kind of cute too. Cheerful is a good word for it, and the colors are flattering on her.

Looks like a six-year-old’s party dress. From the 70′s. From hell.

This is NICE & FINE, but on her it’s absolutely ADORABLE & STYLISH! She can make anything look stylish… Remember when she wore a belt on her breasts? That was AWESOME and she looked great! So, maybe because she has a little girl, she’s gravitating towards a girly style and I think she makes it work! I’ll FAB her, but mostly because I adore that she wore both earrings on the same ear! That’s the kind of crazy I love and the kind of thing I would do!

By the way, Jessica, your “Sienna Miller was ravaged by wolves” post is still on e of my favorites ever on GFY! BRAVO, girl! Ahahahahah!!!!!!!!

Of all the whackadoo dresses on all the whackadoo celebs, y’all had to come down on the ‘inexplicable adoration’ side of the fence… now?

I like it! Not really sure why. I think it’s because it’s kind of light and fun, and it looks like a dress you could have fun IN, not like those hideous fishtails you can’t walk in, or the side-boobs where if you turn around too fast you’ll flash everyone. I’m not sure I’m defending my position very well, but here’s something I never thought I’d say: well done, Sienna.

I think it’s cute, but too informal for the GG. Her face though, is flawless!

That shiny pink dress is just fug.

I like it. It’s girly and kind of goofy, but sweet. And it fits with the character she was nominated for. Very 1960′s.

I like it, and am also a fan of flowery, lightly scented drawer liner.

I liked it, just not for the Red Carpet. Didn’t feel formal enough.

I like it! It makes her look light and happy. I’m not a hater of all things Sienna so maybe that’s why I’m giving it a pass. It’s different and fun. Which is why I also loved Lucy Liu’s dress, too.

It’s more summer garden party wedding than golden globes, but it is lovely.

This looks liker a badly executed home craft project. It also kind of looks like an ourfit created for one of those ridiculous Project Runway challenges in which they have to throw together an outfit in an hour, and something goes horribly wrong for one of the designers-with this being the end result. Shame on you, Sienna. I need her to go back to looking like Edie 24/7. She was magnificent in Factory Girl.

I love it. I really enjoy that Sienna Miller seems to dress in the theme of her film projects – like how she spent months cutting about looking like Sedgwick when filming Factory Girl – its stylish/lazy method acting. So I think this, and the pink girly number, is an adorable nod to the sixties. And she looks so much more comfortable and happy then all the other glittered and be-tulled nominees.

Who invited her anyway? Sienna, you’re going to be late for that 7-year-old’s pool party in the Palisades.

Pretty. Sweet without being icky, and there’s something girlish and charming about the shape.

This outfit would make more sense if it were on Kiernan Shipka. Circa 2008.

This is a summer shower curtain, complete with 3D flowers. Blech. I like the color, I love her makeup/face but I hate the dress.

Ugh! “Shower curtain” was exactly what I thought, and if this were a Project Runway challenge using things from a Bed, Bath and Beyond, it might have made the top 3, but it wouldn’t even have won! The second dress looks like she raided the wardrobe closet for a middle school version of Alice in Wonderland. I liked it better when she was away.

WHY are we not talking about her two different colors of hair?! She is literally half blonde, half brunette. It’s driving me insane!

  34. Dazie

From a distance, it looks like one of those “brocade” dresses from the 60′s- stiff and heavy. Up close- light and fluffy. Meh.

And the pink jacket thing? Way. Too. Small.

I HATE her makeup/hair, absolutely hate it for this event!!!

SIENNA LOOKS GORGEOUS AND SHE WORE BRITISH AND THE YANKS OF COURSE MISSED THE SUBTLETY OF THE TIPPI HEDREN LOOK ! Interestingly all the top fashion mags i.e. Vogue Harpers and the major English Fashion papers got it
