I’m looking forward to the day La Steinfeld returns to the shows as a nominee. In the meantime:
This makes me nuts. Someone went to all that trouble to make a dress that was at least trying something, even if part of that involved popped shoulder seams… and then they crapped out at the knees. STOP CRAPPING OUT AT THE KNEES. FINISH WHAT YOU START.
Ahem. Okay. I’ve collected myself. Let us now consider her other outfit from the weekend, which does not crap out at the knees. Instead, it is properly hemmed there:
My beef with this isn’t even… whatever is happening to her midsection. (She looks like an illuminated manuscript. Like someone just decided to start committing a Bible verse to paper in fancy calligraphic style and then got bored before finishing the first letter. Crapping out at the ABCs, as it were.) I don’t like that the shoulders and sleeves on this sucker make her look slumpy. Don’t bring a girl’s posture down before its time, designers. Let blogging do that, the way it’s happening for the rest of us.
