Golden Globes Fug or Fab Carpet: Stacy Keibler

We tease Intern George and the Keib for how/whether dating him has — by choice or not — homogenized her wardrobe choices. (Case in point, the last time George escorted a lady to a major awards show, it was Elisabetta Canalis at the Oscars, and she ALSO wore red.) But we tease because we love, and as much as we wish George would come to work occasionally and then listen to us tell him all about how it’s perfectly respectable to date women who are over 40 — or even over 35 — we should also probably look at the clothes on their own merits, and not just on whether they came from a stable of pre-approved gowns that meet all the mathematical qualifiers of A LITTLE Interest But Not Enough To Steal Any Serious Thunder. And… go.

The red would be perfect without the bow on the back. Nobody over the age of 12 should wear bows on their dress. Maybe small ones on the shoes once in awhile, but not on the dress.

I like the red and the white both. Simple *works* and redirects the eye to how entirely gorgeous she is. She has personality, and it shows. Also, I totally agree about how great it is to see them laughing together! If only for that, I hope she sticks around. Yay laughter and fun!! So much more interesting to look at than Brangelina blinking stoically at the cameras.

the whole business with him and the women creeps me out

He always makes me think of Rock Hudson and that kind of makes me sad….because I’d much rather him be happy than straight.

Got it in one. I think it’s sad that he has to continue this farce. When everyone is talking about it you should realise that the ruse is no longer working.

Yep, me too. In the first picture of her in the white dress, he looks he is escorting his daughter to the altar.

Old men always look OLDER with much younger arm candy.

And I never understand why the much younger women want to be with them, unless it is for money/prestige/etc. Because I was a young thing once, and I and all of my friends were chasing after guys around our age, not men our dad’s age!

I love that bow, I think it makes the whole dress adorable. And rather than calling the black and silver one stuffy, I’d choose the adjective “regal.” It’s got a vintage vibe to it and looks like the kind of gown Grace Kelly might have worn once she’d princessed up.

I think maybe she likes getting to dress simply and look lady-like. Have you ever seen what she wore when she was modeling and wrestling?

    PANTY LINE. No.

    • Stefanie

      Isnt that a seam?

        That’s what I thought.

        Yep, it’s a seam.

On TV, it looked like a panty line. That is a badly placed seam on the one side for this reason.

But, even with VPL, she gets to be Intern George’s girlfriend, so she wins at life, as far as I’m concerned.

I’m wondering if women are starting to turn down the opportunity to be George Clooney’s girlfriend; it seems a lot of hassle and not any pay off. She does look beautiful but that dress is kind of plain.

Sometimes she channels Princess Charlene of Monaco when her hair is back and that forehead is on display and that’s a bit of a negative. (photo #8)

But they ARE really having fun together, aren’t they? That’s kinda the main thing, so good for them. But otherwise, yes, it would not kill you to date someone over 40 George, it’s not like you need ‘em young to make babies. Argh.

I also saw a bit of Princess Charlene in her… but she looks like a happier version of Princess Charlene.

She looks delightful, in every way.

What in the world is happening in that second picture? It looks like he was photoshopped higher into the picture! IM CONFUSED!

She looks great. I REALLY like them together, if for no other reason than she seems to be sassy and I think IG needs someone who (might) stand up to him

I’m in the “no bow” camp on the red dress. Otherwise lovely. Even like the black dress with the silvery top.

    Bow-ectomy on Red, stat.

I so want her life. But I’m older than he is. Well, one can dream ….

I like the dress and I think the back bow works, but OMG Photo #5, the woman in the background wearing the teal satin mini with a polka-dot mullet dress!! SO awesome, did the Real Houswives sneak in!??

    • Ruby
      0

that’s totally the first thing I saw too! Fake, dry hair, too-tight dress, mullet tail…..who let her in?!

    • Claire L

I should read through all the comments first! LOL!
The sad thing is that in the Elle McPherson photo, so many people ( myself included) were so curious about the polka dot dress ( all we saw was just the hem of the gown)….it’s so sad, I had so much hope.

Is it just me, or is wearing A LOT of makeup? Like, even more than she is?

George looks better when he drinks! But yes he is really starting to show his age in comparison to the ladies – Who will he be dating in 10 years??
She is very pretty and looks lovely simple but classic – I prefer her with her hair back its a tad long and destracts from her pretty face when its down.
    She is fab!

The dresses are fine. I like the silver and black one a lot, actually. But what I really came here to talk about is how deeply disappointed I am that George has turned out to be kind of creepy. It never crossed my mind that he was gay… an intriguing possibility, and definitely, agreed that if so much better for him to embrace it than hide.

However, barring such a possibility, the interchangeable, dressed-up-doll parade on his arm is starting to gross me out. Instead of seeming like a fun, playful, impish man-about-town, he’s starting to strike me as an overly controlling roué and a cad.

Agreed. between this and his habit of playing “pranks” (Hollywood-speak for mean-spirited jokes) on his co-workers makes me think he’s not such a great guy.

I loved all the dresses on her, but it does prove again that a smile is the best accessory.

As for George, it may be all cool now but in a few years he’ll be heading for Tony Randall territory and nobody wants that.

I FOUND THE POLKA DOT DRESS ( and it makes me sad)….it’s in picture 5

Funny, she guest-starred on Chuck and didn’t strike me as particularly pretty (great legs, though) but now she is looking lovely. Looks like being with IG agrees with her, whatever their arrangement is.

I hate that she is all slouchy so as not to look taller than George. Somebody has got to start teaching these young starlets to stand up straight! (Taylor Swift, I’m looking at YOU!) It makes a world of difference!

I never really knew or care about GC’s girlfriends, if there’s an “arrangement,” etc. But I will say that I like him with Stacy, as she seems like much more fun than the previous girlfriends. So, good on them.

But in picture 7, did anyone else get a strong “high school prom” vibe from them?

This woman is a hanger with a head… Everything looks good on her! I love the simplicity of her dresses because she lets George shine while still looking elegant and classy! The red & white dresses are BEAUTIFUL. & SEXY and the black dress is PURE ELEGANCE! I didn’t like the short black & white dress, but she still looked pretty in it! Her shoes & accessories are always nice and her hair & makeup are always perfect! FAB!!!

I love the bow, I too am starting to get creeped out by George and his young ladies, and I really miss seeing Stacy Keibler’s amazing legs. That weird black 90′s thing had a slit, at least, but c’mon. Free the legs, George!

I am so far behind the times?? Is GC really the Rock Hudson of today? That is so sad – I really thought he just had a thing for younger women!? I think she is beautiful – I loved the dress – I thought that the hair was a bit on the ‘bed head ‘ yet styled side…it would have been nicer in a loose chignon…there was a touch of the birds nest about it!

  25. Mahastee

Is it better to be the Rock Hudson of today, or the Tony Curtis of tomorrow?

Stacy looks fine, totally functional red carpet looks and nothing more. But she is so beautiful and tall that all these plain dresses look amazing on her, it makes me want to eat chocolate and watch a Bridget Jones movie.

Except for the last one, where she needs to stand up straight, but perhaps it just looks that way because the photo was taken while they’re walking and talking and it’s cold?

Does anyone else think that in the third picture it kind of looks like he’s her ventriloquist puppet?

I dunno, I like that last black and sparkly number. It gives me a Princess Di vibe, but in a good way. I feel like she’s kind of pulling off eau de royale, which is not something everybody can do.

I agree they look like they’re having fun, and I endorse it.

I love the red dress minus the bow. The black and white dress is meh. The white dress is again fabulous. Simple but impressive. I also think they make a very nice couple. George looks like he’s enjoying himself and for once his woman is, too. Glad he found a woman who’s not in her 20s, has a name for herself already and can speak and hold a conversation. Which isn’t something you could say about his last two women.

They are probably not going to last, but I think they’re kind of adorable. And she is so super pretty! I don’t think I ever really noticed or took in how pretty she was until this Globes event.

I thought they looked really great together and I love the pics of IG after a few glasses of bubbly. I can’t help that I’m a Stacy Keibler fan…I have sons who watched WWE when she was still a Diva.

I think what’s going on with her dress choices has a lot to do with her personal confidence compared with most Hollywood girlfriends/starlets/arm candy. She comes from a more athletic/dancing/wrestling background, she knows she’s gorgeous, I’m betting her dress misfires occur when she clashes with a stylist, George, or maybe when she picks what she thinks she’s supposed to wear, rather than what she’s comfortable in.

I thought she looked just great on the red carpet. And I love the neckline of that last dress! Everyone should have a collar made of woven silver.

She is wearing the hell out of that red dress, even with the bow on it. And I really like the black Marchesa – it has a vintage feel to it that I enjoy a lot.

Back in the day Sharon Stone made simple look classy and elegant. Why, even though Stacy looks great here, do I feel like she picked this up at Macy’s on the clearance rack? A good find no doubt, but not at all interesting.

I thought I read somewhere that George picked the red dress . .

She needs a younger man, and a younger dress. That bow is irritable. They remind me of the Trump couple. Sad.
