Fugs and Pieces: April 9

fugs-and-pieces

– Thanks for making this year’s Fug Madness incredibly fun. My favorite part of the whole shebang is the One Fugging Moment montage we put together at the end of the tournament. It just cracks me up. If you missed this year’s please revisit it here. And if you’re nostalgic for years past, here’s the video for 2009, and our inaugural video. We were so young then. So innocent. So much less wrinkly.

– Blog Persnickety Snark (I really love the word, “persnickety”) is compiling a list of the 100 YA Books of all time! Don’t you want to weigh in? I did. (Persnickety Snark)

– Check out Dr Horrible Act 1 re-imagined as an 8-bit game. It’s…awesome. (EW)

– This is maybe my favorite salute to Thursday’s 20th anniversary of the premiere of Twin Peaks. Anyone who includes a cherry pie recipe gets it. Hug your log today. (Three Thousand)

– You may have already seen this video of the cast of Mad Men performing a spoof of “Bye Bye Birdie,” but I could watch Jon Hamm ham it up all day. (SEE WHAT I DID THERE?) (YouTube)

Channing Tatum’s ‘stache is giving me hives. (ICYDK)

This truly encapsulates how we at GFY feel about sandwiches. (Hyperbole and a Half)

– All I know is, this better lead to a Very Special Episode of GOOP in which Gywnnie asks her celebrity friends for their tips on REVENGE. (Telegraph)

– Don’t lie. You’re curious as to how LiLo has branched out from leggings in her clothing line. Rompers are involved. OF COURSE. (All the Rage)

This is a great piece about how The Baby-Sitters Club — released as of this week! — can inspired tween girls to become entrepreneurs. Damn straight! (WSJ)

Speaking of books, it seems angels may be the new vampires, as far as YA books go. I wonder if it will ever come full circle and LIVE REGULAR PEOPLE will become the new vampires.  (The Guardian)

–  A chef in Ireland is recreating the Titanic’s last meal. I hope the evening ends with diners being pelted by ice cubes. Too soon? (Belfast Telegraph)

Chuck broke up with Vanessa? Because Blair broke up with her boyfriend! What if Chuck and Blair get together for reals!? (I care about this more than I care about what’s actually happening on Gossip Girl.) (Celebitchy)

This Hester Prynne t-shirt is AWESOME. And nerdy. BUT IN AN AWESOME WAY. (Jacket Copy)

– I can’t believe no one has made a t-shirt based on Heil Honey, I’m Home, a British TV show about Hilter and Eva Braun living in domestic harmony! A show that ACTUALLY EXISTED. IN 1990. Along with a variety of other incredibly misguided programs that lasted only one episode.  Oh, wait. I totally can. BECAUSE THAT SHOW SEEMS LIKE A SERIOUSLY BAD IDEA. (The Top13)

– Demi Moore looks amazing. But I’m not sure if I believe she hasn’t had any work done on her face. She looks awesome, and ergo would probably be better served by not talking about whether she did or didn’t do anything, you know? You’re hot, lady — don’t be so defensive about said hotness. JUST OWN IT. (Lainey)
