This isn’t meant as an insult; it’s an honest question. How is Carrie Underwood not cloaked in major designers all the time? She’s arguably the most famous country singer in the genre right now — at least in the ladies’ division; Blake Shelton might give her a run for her money in general — and if you want to get shallow about it, she’s beautiful and has the kind of figure designers dream of dressing. I’m surprised she’s not constantly in, say, Carolina Herrera or Naeem Khan or Jenny Packham, or even some of the overseas couturiers. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that she’s providing an opportunity for smaller labels to get visibility, but I don’t necessarily get the sense that’s because she’s Carrie Underwood: Fashion Philanthropist, so much as Carrie Underwood: It’s What’s Available.
