Fugna Chow

We first highlighted this outfit during Fashion Week, when it came down the runway at Jeremy Scott, and now China Chow has taken it into the (slightly) real world.

… Yep, still pretty much an exercise in psychedelic scalping, for the murder-phobes who’d rather just simulate the experience in the wig section at Aah’s. I suppose I should be applauding those people for merely faking their homicides. But I bet this is giving a pack of clowns some really gnarly nightmares. Hang on, maybe I should be grateful for that, too.

Was anyone else injured seriously in the cotton-candy factory explosion?

This looks like one of those garments that makes you constantly feel like you have bugs crawling on your legs. How she is restraining her deep psychological need to swipe at the Mystery Bugs on her legs is beyond me…

it’s like a My Pretty Pony factory explosion. Or all the Muppets have been melted down into this…this…fake hair cape

My first reaction was ‘No! Not Rainbow Brite!’, but I suppose some MLPs are in that mix, too. Oh, my childhood toys, I weep for you.

TLo called it a “Pride Muppet”, hahahaaa! Bless her, it’s deliciously OTT and so perfectly appropriate for the event!

I love this! I’ve always had a weakness for rainbow stuff, and it looks like it would be awesome to twirl around in. It’s perfect for a Logo event!

In the tiny thumbnail in my feed reader, I thought, “OK, weird but fun rainbow mini-caftan thing.” AND THEN IT WAS WIGS. I just can’t.

She reminds me of our high school production of Seussical, where there were fuzzy rainbow trees everywhere. Obviously, I adore this bowl of bonkers stew. DEEE-Lish.

How many Treasure Trolls were shaved in order to complete this coat? Poor little trolls, the hair is all they had going for them.

I don’t care what anyone else here says, I LOVE IT. If the hair it’s made from is as soft as I’m imagining, I think wearing this would be a blast. I’m actually quite surprised by how much I enjoy this, and non-ironically at that.

Haha, I just went through the comments again and realized that the few people loving the dress are also boys… Interesting!

I will always be sad that Ms. Chow and Keanu Reeves did not stay together forever and will give her a pass on anything. She’s adorable.

I expected a little more daring shoe here. I mean, if you’re wearing that, I’d think you’d also take a little risk with your feet and not do the obligatory platform clodhopper. At least they’re not beige.

I KNOW! I was thinking some sort of boot- like a cra-maze-balls pair of thigh highs.

The colors are such that it looks as if the designers behind the Mozilla Firefox logo and/or Google Chrome decided to base an outfit off their work. Something about all that color compressed in a tiny space. My brain’s recognizing it as a logo or sign of some kind. Very disconcerting.

    Oh China.

It’s the NewNowNext Awards. This is no time to be wearing a hair shirt. Even if it is rainbow.

According to a news story on the Jeremy Scott Fall 2012 show … this thing is made of REAL HUMAN HAIR.

    China Chow rocks it though…

The colors are kind of pretty but OMG REAL HUMAN HAIR.

This is amazing. I have no idea who this woman is, but I love her for wearing this monstrous thing.

Hearing that it’s real human hair makes me go off it a bit, but otherwise I’m kind of in love. It would be so much fun. I can imagine that when wearing it you would have people asking to feel it. If you wore it with confidence at the right event (like Ms Chow seems to have done) you would have the best time.

Me – I’d probably plait the hair unconsciously. What would the man version of this look like? I’m thinking a vest with shorter hair. I would wear that and rock on with my bad self while doing it.

I kind of love this altough I feel a little torn on how it must feel skinwise (soft? tingly?). What I am really loving are everybody’s comments, mostly from the people who liked this (Joey!!!!).

She styled it perfectly, as far as that is even possible.

Mark my words. It’s only a small step from wearing human hair to not having to shave anymore. W00t!

Count me in the “I find this enjoyable” as well. It’s fun! It’s colourful! It’s whimsical! However, yes, the human hair aspect has the squick factor.

As others have noted above, this was worn for an LGBT event at Logo and thus is actually perfect for the occasion. While this might be ridiculous worn almost anywhere else, it needs to be put in context.

I kind of like it too, be it for a gay/rainbow event, or not. She’s just wearing it well. Hairy but elegant (now those are two adjectives you don’t see together often).

While clearly this is a fug, it’s a really, really fun fug. If it is based on the wig coat, it’s so much better. The wig coat takes itself so seriously. THIS is pure sunshine and lollipops.

One half of me can’t believe someone is wearing this (probably the half that wears mostly black). The other half of me absolutely loves it. The rainbow colors on it are so deep and pretty, and if I were wearing it I’d have so much fun playing with it.

  41. Suzie

It is fun fug! Although seems warm. I bet she is sweating in that thing!

Also, she could totally wear it again. Just braid it or curl it, and it’s fresh and new!

“Yeah, I know. It’s awful and I’ll never live it down but I’m going to wear this anyway. The designer is holdling my cat hostage”.

Chris March on Project Runway had clothes with hair and the stupid judges said NO to him, as if the world wasn’t ready…PLEASE! Way ahead of his time and much more tasteful than this psycho colored weirdness.

I have a sudden impulse to buy up a few Lady Lovely Locks dolls off of eBay, but I also must confess I have a weakness for anything rainbow-colored and also for kooky wigs, so this is kind of hitting my sweet spot.
