Fug the Show: Pretty Little Liars, episode 4-5

I can’t believe it took this long for a Melrose Place shout-out, but thank GOD it was the one our souls called out for the most: SHE RIPPED OFF HER WIG. It’s not even a Sydney Andrews moment, but Laura Leighton did it with aplomb, and it makes me wish this show had more SHE DID THINGS IN ALL-CAPS moments.

I’d like to know: ARE THERE NO TEEN BOYS ON THIS SHOW OTHER THAN (MY BELOVED) CALEB? WHY are all the dude romantic interests grown-ups??? ALWAYS. Fitz, the Karate Dude, possibly College Admissions Coach….it seems INSANE to me that Caleb (and I guess Toby, although he dropped out, right?) are the only age-appropriate boys in town.

Whatever happened to that quiz bowl guy that Spencer played naked trivia with?? He was cute….

What’s even more disturbing is that the more they flesh out Allison’s crazy ass scheming schedule during the “summer she disappeared” or whenenver it was, was that she legit had to be banging at least 5-10 adult dudes. Ian, beach hottie/board shorts, Wilden (was he beach hottie? who knows), mysterious driver of car at the mask shop, pilot guy, college guys at Cicero (?), who knows who else at this point.

And she was like 14 or 15 when she disappeared. I MEAN. Couldn’t they have just aged her up to 16/17, at least?

She disappeared the summer after 7th grade in the books, so at least she is a bit older than that in the show.

Quiz team guy was gorgeous!! I really thought they were going to work him in more, or at least a little longer.

Also on a fun note, a girl I work with went to high school with him in North Carolina.

I’m so glad I quit this show ages ago because certainly things have become wackier and wackier… Your delightfull recaps are the only contact that I need with the dumb old folks of Rosewood.

Bless your heart Fug Girls for your ever lasting patience!

I love your PLL fashion recaps. This show has some crackstastic clothing and I always love to hear what you have to say about it!!

For the record, I seem to remember Buffy sleeping in a bra as well, although that may also have been a dream sequence. It was a while ago now.

You are extremely on point with the one liners! When Aria said “4 Wheel Hive” I just stopped watching. Four Wheel Hive?!? It’s like she’s A and waited her whole life to use that line

TERRIBLE. I couldn’t pull that one out of my head but it was really, really bad.

The Four Wheel Hive thing was super awkward, but I actually loved Spencer’s Game of Thrones reference.

That wasn’t one of the ones I meant — I was talking about when she referred to Hanna’s mom, in the dream, “going all Britney Shears.”

I haven’t seen a tie skirt that awesome since the opening credits of Blossom.

(I never braved watching From Justin to Kelly)

I also miss Jack’s old face.

Skirt of Ties would be a good band name.

I am so glad you said that Aria was wearing high socks with the tie skirt. When I watched the episode, I was trying to process why her mom let her out of the house wearing those stretchy stripper-ish boots from the 90s.

I also liked Aria’s “skirt of ties” outfit… She looks cute in it! And the outfits Spencer and Emily are wearing to the frat party are GREAT! Loved them! But, Hanna’s hair is soooooooo bad! Why can’t she have shorter hair on the show? Damn! I know it’s hard to understand why these girls make so many careless mistakes, but they are teenagers and teens do some pretty dumb stuff! And proven by this show, so do the adults!

Oh, and PLEASE Fug the Fromage of “From Justin to Kelly” because I refuse to watch it, but I want to laugh at it!

I knew as soon as I saw that tie skirt, you would have something to say about it!

I just need to say, I love Kelly Clarkson, but “From Justin to Kelly” remains the worst movie I have EVER seen, and I’ve seen lots of terrible movies. I actually saw it in the theater because I was babysitting for a 10 and 12 year old during the summer it came out and they really wanted to go. I was shocked that they did not realize how mind-numbingly terrible it was, but I guess there actually was a target audience that enjoyed it!

It was so bad they never made “From Ruben to Clay,” which would have been a much better movie.
