Fug the Cover: Pippa Middleton

Don’t you feel like Pippa Middleton saw this at the news agent and thought to herself, “dude, you could have called me. I would have sat for a picture.”

I would have also thought she’d find the pun about her bottom unnecessary.

@Kate, I was just going to comment on that. The bottom line? Ba dum bump.

I saw this the other day on another site and thought it was fake. How is this real? Isn’t Tatler supposed to be up scale? It’s almost so bad it’s good.

She looks like Amy Sedaris as Jerri Blank.

@Julia–I was going to say the exact same thing!!

This looks like the kind of collages we put together for “senior spirit” pages in the yearbook.

The original will probably look fab in Will ‘n Kate’s wedding album. But that incarnation of it looks like she got mugged by the Chelsea Flower Show.

Also, I am absolutely going to die of envy of the Middleton sisters, whose mother I am just old enough to be (thought slightly younger than their actual Mom). How can people be so perfect? Or are they victims of the Body-Snatchers?

    Printshop Deluxe border effect, ahoy!

It’s all soooooo ugly. Could anything be this hideous by mistake, or is there evil afoot in Tatler’s offices?

I’m sure she loves that they made her look like a zombie. Poor girl.

Amy Sedaris!! THANK YOU this whole time I knew she reminded me of someone, but couldn’t think who.

I have to imagine she’s mortified by this cover. You know all her friends are razzing her about it.

This totally reminded me that when I was out on the town this weekend, some weirdo told me I looked like Pippa Middleton. I don’t resemble her in the slightest, except maybe hair color and length, but it made me wonder if he’s had any level of success with that line. Consider yourselves forewarned ladies! The opposite sex (and apparently the tabloids) have taken note of our obsession with the Middleton sisters and are utilizing this knowledge for their benefit, and presumably our detriment!

This looks like some weird Victorian valentine. I think you could, when I was a little girl, buy a Samantha Parkington kit to do this to your own photos.

Editorial staff goes on holiday, summer interns will play…and toss together last minute crap like this at press time.

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about the sister!!! Call me when she marries a Prince and I’ll decide if I give a damn then!

It is a flattering snapshot, I’ll grant them, but could thy not have made her face in color, and the uberflower border in greys?

And, if you please: What to spend your money ON, you know if you want TO. Seriously? A ripe pair of dangling prepositions. Isn’t England the land of our mother tongue?

@ ak: SO TRUE! It totally looks like something Samantha Parkington would have collaged. Also, thank you for making an American Girl reference, because you just make my inner six-year-old very happy.

I love the “Reading this on a beach? You could be on a better one” snippet. Just a little cruel.

The colours of the flowers are so deliciously gorgeous but they make the B & W pic look soooooooooooo dull. Are the blunt ends on her eyebrows for real?

    Oh AmyK, I’m still laughing!

Do you feel like her teeth look a bit like they photoshopped someone else’s teeth in there? Or something? Like they pasted her teeth on crooked? They just look weird, and not in a ha ha British teeth are funny way.

I WOULD like to know “HOW CELEBRITIES LOOK BETTER THAN THE REST OF US,” though. The answer, I assume, is that they can afford fancy makeup and trainers and such and we can’t.

I’m sorry but I can’t come at her at all. She certainly has an enviable figure but I don’t think she’s attractive in the slightest. Team Kate!

Why’d they let the interns design the cover? This is horrible! I’m with witjunkie — her friends are NEVER gonna let her live this down. And it’s not even her fault!

It must be wonderful to have a b&w picture of you, surrounded by flowers, on the cover of a magazine about Onassis’ suicide.

Shockingly bad! It looks like a tribute after a death! Like the photo was wrapped in plastic and taped to a fence where people have left flowers!

that is the most budget-ass cover i’ve ever seen, and thank you so much for bringing it to my attention. i need all the laughs i can get!

I see Amy Sedaris as well, but someone recently mentioned she looks like a young Susan Boyle and boy, she really does. I have to say, she’s a cute girl, but not worthy of all the fuss.

I just don’t get the whole Pippa thing. Her entire fame comes from her brother-in-law and the way her butt looked at his wedding to her sister.

Will the world just stop trying to make Pippa happen?! She looked nice in a dress once. And her bum is actually pretty non-existent so why the fuss? Kate I get, but not this girl.

Lesson number one for graphic designers: text should be in a colour that stands out, in order to be easily readable.
Lesson number two: the overall result should be pleasing to the eye.

It looks like a (bad) high school yearbook “In Memoriam” page for the girl who died during senior year.
