Well, she had an uphill climb to match this apex of glory.
She clearly has hired a stylist — or else, a new stylist — in the last few months, because it feels like she’s upped her level of polish. The cynic in me wonders if it’s because The Americans got passed over at the Emmys last year and so somebody decided Keri Russell needed to boost her profile, or if she just got itchy and decided to try new stuff. Either way, it’s exciting, because risks are always more fun to write about than ruts (ahem, Aniston). But I’m undecided about whether this play on volume works. The texture of the fabric is cool, but I think the proportions of the skirt and the shirt together are too billowy as to be flattering. But her face is damn near flawless, so she can take that to bed with her tonight for some sweet dreams.
