Fug or Fab: Heidi Klum

fug-or-fab

First of all, I want to take this space to announce that I feel like Project Runway is way better this cycle than the previous one. I literally have blocked all of last season out of my mind. I know it was Teams, but you could hold a gun to my head and ask me to name the winner and I’d be like, “…Tim Gunn?” This current season is just better. They’ve made some interesting tweaks to the format that are all really good, and it feels well cast ONCE AGAIN. So, yay! And Heidi is clearly happy, probably because she has so many jobs that she’s sleeping on piles o’ cash lately:

I don’t hate this? But maybe I am too pleased by the return of Runway to think clearly. What say you?

It looks cheap. I’m sure it’s not but it looks it.

Exactly what I came here to say. I don’t hate it, but it looks like it came from the mall. The every-day person’s mall, not the rich person’s mall.

These pieces just don’t belong together. The skirt with the shoes, fine, for daytime, but what’s that slinky evening top doing with them?

It’s better than what she’s been wearing lately so I give it a well played….. except for the shoes. They offend me for some reason.

It looks like she wrapped a garbage bag on top & made the skirt out of grandma’s old couch cushion. Big fat NO.

That big flower on the skirt is drawing my eyes straight to her nether region. Is that top leather or sequined? EIther way, it’s got an odd sheen to it. And with all that being said — other than the fact that she could stand to have the top yanked up just a smidge — I don’t hate this. At least it’s not slit down to her waist — or up to her waist. Or both.

I’m really happy to read this about proj run – i’ve watched every season religiously, but this season has been building up on my DVR – I think bc I hated last season SO much – the teams, the people, the clothes – glad to hear it’s better!

    Dress is meh.

Well, it’s age appropriate, she’s covered up and everything is wrangled properly, so it’s a step in the right direction.

If the top wasn’t made out of sequins then the whole look would be a win.

I too am having a renewed love affair with PR this season, and let’s all give a hearty “Hell Yeah” to more Tim Gunn on the stage and judging panel. Even the crazy Russian, pre-temper tantrum exit, brought some much needed levity to the show. We’ll miss you Sandro, but not those hideous va-jay-jay shorts. *shudder*

Back to Heidi! Love her on AGT – the camaraderie amongst the judges on that show is pretty good. I have to say, I didn’t know Heidi could actually be so funny – her German-ess sometimes can seem so brusque, that it makes her comments seem even more hilarious. She’s even dressing better on that show.

I guess whatever “post-Seal/mid-new life crisis” she was going through, (hopefully, she burnt all her Versace) might be finally coming to an end.

Neither fug nor fab. Most improved player, maybe?

Dress is ok, but why is she so orange?

Yank it all up an inch and I’m happy!

The little star link on the skirt goes back to the K-mart Jaclyn Smith collection if I wish to ::snort:: get that look, I would say that really is comment enough on the ensemble.

I like all of the changes to PR this season except one: the Tim Gunn Save. Don’t you think it tarnishes their “goodbyes” at the end of each episode? Before Tim’s farewell to the auf’d designer always seemed heartfelt and touching, but now I feel like all they’re thinking the entire time is “Save me, Tim, save me, Tim, c’mon, you know you want to.” And Tim’s probably thinking, “Oh hells no, crazy eco-designer who sullies the good name of Timothy, I will not be saving your fashion-backward behind today. Good day, sir. I said, ‘Good day!’”

Oh, and Heidi’s outfit above is proportionally a little strange and is very dull, but a least it’s not a size too small and one speculum away from full exposure.

I don’t hate this. It was really nice on my sofa in 1994 and it’s not actually terrible here. Of course, “not actually terrible” probably isn’t quite the look Heidi was going for.

A floral sofa with a sequined top?

I’ve GOT to see a picture of that…

Ugly. She can’t dress herself well at all, can she.

I have a theory about Heidi. She may be playin’ us. Maybe if she just keeps wearing the ugliest clothes imaginable, everyone will give up and tell her to just forget dressing and go naked.

looking a little tanorexic to me, but yep, I can look at her without being afraid of seeing some part of her that I really don’t need to see

Apparently last week’s Project Runway challenge was “make something better out of Kim Kardashian’s met ball dress.”

Good grief, this is practically a home run for La Klum, not least because she is COVERED UP.

Anytime I’m not looking at Heidi’s wax job or about to encounter her nipples I call it a win.

Oh for goodness sake, are floral patterns in? Between Klum and Aniston I’m having awful 80′s flashbacks. Next someone’s going to show up in a drop waist with a bib collar and I’m going to have a stroke.

    This look is bad. Bad.

I love the skirt and I even like the shoes with it, but the sparkly strapless top doesn’t go with them! It’s nighttime from the waist up and daytime from the waist down! Imagine how beautiful a simple blue or soft pink shirt would be with this! The earrings are FAB!

By the way, I’m also enjoying Project Runway this season! I sort of hate watched last season and I remember the winner, but I can’t tell you anything about any of the other designers, except for Kate, who’s back this season!

She literally CAN NOT EVER be well dressed… even on her show!!! Oh the irony!

I think it’s very pretty and fits; the skirt isn’t creased or stretched and I love the pattern.

ADORE the skirt. Just a shame that she matched it by painting tar all over the top part of her body. But I’m just thankful that it’s a ‘tastefully sexy’ outfit and not saying “look at me, don’t I have a fabulous body/aren’t I sexy/I bet Seal is crying into his drink”.

I love a good pencil skirt, but I am not a fan of this one. I don’t think any one of these pieces “go” together.
However, I will admit, I am decidedly anti floral print….unless the person wearing it happens to be between ages 1 day to 10 years….

I think the outfit is hideous, the shoes are boring. BUT she looks so happy, so fresh, her smile is gorgeous, she herself looks fabulous enough to let me forget what she wears.
