Fug or Fab: Abigail Breslin

In all honesty, I kind of love this.

I don’t entirely love it, really, as an outfit, but I love the idea of Abigail Breslin stomping around in this, like some tiny little non-threatening Stevie Nicks. This is totally what you wear when you’re 16 and NO ONE UNDER STANDS YOUR EMO PAIN. But you still want to look cute. BUT DON’T OBJECTIFY ME. But, still, cute. BUT SERIOUS.  But pretty cute. BUT A BIG FAN OF THE CRAFT SO DON’T MARGINALIZE ME. But cute. THIS is where I think we all wished Taylor Momsen would have landed. What do you think?

Agreed. Plus, charcoal gray on a blonde is a million times better than black when the overall attitude of the clothes are “black”.

She’s just such a pretty, pretty girl. With gorgeous hair, even though I’m not a fan of the dark roots/light ends thing. I love the jacket and I think I’d be on board with the whole look if the dress were shorter, somehwere above the knee. I’m going to reserve judgment on the boots since I can’t really see them that well, but I see a giant platform and I really dislike those.

I think she looks very cute in a sort of adolescent Klingon kind of way. All she needs is a batleth, way more boobs and some forehead ridges and she’d be all set.

Love the look! Plus, her make up is light and fresh, not all charcoal-y/kohl-eyeliner heavy.

Exactly what I thought. She does not have Cleopatra-lined eyes, like a Momsen, or an Olsen. She looks like a normal, cheerful, All-American teen.

Am I the only one compelled to watch The Craft every time it comes on TV?

You mean there are people out there who AREN’T compelled to watch The Craft every time it comes on TV?

I like it for the most part. If anything, I think the boots are a little heavy for the outfit.

Please stay Stevie Nicks and don’t deviate into Shania Twain.

I think it’s cute and it fits her well. Only thing I don’t like is the weird hem on the skirt (think I’d prefer the shorter length all the way around).

It reminds me of the black faux leather jacket I had at 16 that I thought made me look SO cool.

Totally agreed. I love this on her. (Probably no on else, but on baby Stevie Nicks? Totally).

I like her hair and the jacket. That are all the nice things I can say about this.

Your assessment is spot on! And despite the witchy attire, she still looks young, fresh, and pretty. Well done!

She could wear this in the video if The Biebs re-made the classic song Witchy Woman.

Yes I totally love this…. I’m not a fan of those boots, I hate platform-y footwear. But that is minor :)

    Totally Agree.

And I am coming to realize that I am turning into a big ‘ol softy when it comes to the under 18 range of actors/musicians. I would hate for someone to have scrutinized me when I was going through that stage. The only exception is when said youngins dress they’re auditioning for the next cover of Playboy.

Wow, what a beautiful young woman. She weathered little girl to young woman so easily (wish I’d been so graceful about it!). I give her a pass on this outfit – totally agree with your assessment!!

Eh, I was all set to hate this until you mentioned Taylor Momsen, and then all manner of horrors ran through my head, at which point I decided this ensemble isn’t too bad, comparatively.

    The Momsen Effect triumphs again.

Who knew Abigail Breslin was the love child of Mary Kate Olsen and Kirsten Dunst.

Awwww she’s a cutie. I agree, I think she’s just going through a I-want-to-be-a-mysterious-badass phase. Totally harmless. Also, she’s gorgeous so that helps!

Yeah, I was thinking Stevie Nicks or Antonia from True Blood, with her look here. But it’s cute! And she doesn’t look stumpy.

She looks really great. The boots aren’t the best choice, maybe an aggressive motorcycle style would’ve pulled it off? But otherwise, this is well put together, and yes, you nailed it, Stevie-Nicksian.

oooohhh….i love the craft too. one of my schlocky faves. robin tunney turned out rather smartly, don’t you think?

Yes, why didn’t you end up here, Momsen?

    Abigail Breslin is SIXTEEN?!

In my head, she’s still the little kid from Signs or Little Miss Sunshine.

Wellllllllll, based on her facial expressions in most of her stills–I believe she’s frazzled because she will never ever hit 5′ in height.

Whatever. Short of pulling a complete Lohan, I will always love her for Little Miss Sunshine.

I have an unhealthy love for eveyone in that movie [and not just because of that movie]…It just never fails to charm me,

Now I miss Momsen…isn’t she dead?

I thought Stevie Nicks as soon as I saw this LOL. I still hate that hair color on her though, I wish she had something more like Michelle Tratchenberg’s hair color or you know the shocking notion of her natural color.

I don’t love the hem. If it were a little above the knee and the same length all around, I’d call this a triumph.

Her hair and makeup are FANTASTIC. I would have killed at that age to have makeup that looked that good!

Really, if you can’t dress like this when you’re 16, when can you? Love her. Love the outfit.

Imagine the nightmare of growing up in the spotlight and having every item you wear scrutinized so closely, young ‘uns need room to experiment, make some blunders, and eventually develop their own style.

luv her…but am I the only who thinks she’s a few layers of eyeliner away from a Stevie Nicks fancy dress costume ??

I hope she doesn’t follow Evan Rachel Wood’s steps.

Stevie Nicks was who I thought of immediately, too. I don’t like the jacket, but she really does look pretty.

I love seeing teenage shots of celebs. I never thought Ke$ha would have made it to an event like this in her younger years though…
