I think The Honorable Woman was supposed to be Maggie Gyllenhaal’s certain Emmy — what Mildred Pierce was to Kate Winslet; what Game Change was to Julianne Moore, and like The Ambassador’s Wife is meant to be to Anne Hathaway, whenever that gets made. I feel bad for Mags that she ran up against the immovable object that was Olive Kitteridge. What will be Hathaway’s Olive Kitteridge, I wonder? I hope it’s Olive, The Other Reindeer.
