Critics’ Choice Awards Fug Carpet: Leslie Mann

Usually, I really like Leslie Mann’s dresses that have an unusual twist.

But this is like the throw-pillow version of what Lea Michele just wore to the People’s Choice Awards, and worse, it looks absurd on Leslie — I mean, on Elle Fanning, I think we’d have something to discuss, but as beautiful as Ms. Mann is… Your movie was called This Is 40, not This Is 14.

I actually think I’m still loving it. Despite all that should be wrong about it. She is also totally owning the look and her face is knockout.

Ditto! Though I agree with Noodle below that I wish the purse weren’t so matchy.

I agree – I unabashedly love this. She’s got the cute personality to pull this off.

Ahhh I know, I love this outfit too! Lea Michelle’s was the gross annoying version, this is just cute.

Don’t know what happened to my last post..don’t shoot me if this ends up repeating.

That is one of the fugliest dresses I’ve ever seen.

I don’t actually hate this, but I’d like a belt, and some accessories that weren’t also Barbie pink.

No no no! It’s like Barbie’s Dream House threw up on some polyester lace!

    Leslie, what were you thinking!?

    I do love her shoes.

Well, she was 14 the year Pretty in Pink came out, so maybe she’s been keeping this ever since. Which is still no excuse to wear it out of the house.

I actually really love it, at least in this photo. (I feel like the skirt might look less good from other angles.) It looks fun and comfortable, and those are great shoes. I wish the purse didn’t match the skirt so exactly, but that’s okay. Look how pretty and smiley! I don’t think it’s too young for her at all.

I am not a fan of this shade on just about anyone, anywhere, so maybe I’m biased. I think this might look better in a softer, almost pastel pink.

I know you’re all slammed with awards season pictures, but are you doing something on Duchess Kate’s portrait?

I feel like I should hate this, but I actually kind of love it.

That’s how I feel. The shoes could be better and the purse less matchy, but I don’t hate this.

    Hate the shoes.

I don’t know why, but I kind of like it. It has a sixties vibe. I didn’t care for Lea Michelle’s. I definitely like this better and I think she’s pretty much pulling it off.

I like it too, although on anyone not as teeny as she is it would be insanely unflattering.

I love it and she looks like she’s enjoying wearing it.

She looks like she is standing with her hips pushed out – like she is 5. Fug to the fug degree.

I actually like this. And I want her stylist!

I don’t mind this- but the clutch is overkill and she could have toughened it up with some kick-ass spiky black shoes. Face & hair- lovely! Makes me fear the dreaded 40 this June a bit less. One doesn’t automatically morph into Grandma Moses when we hit this age!

I can see the argument with her stylist now:

    “Make me look younger!”

“Really, you’re so beautiful that simple and classic styles are what really show off your…”

“Fuck classic styles, I want someone other than my husband to give me a job, and in this town that means looking YOUNG. I want you to make me look fresh, dewy, and twenty years YOUNGER!”

“Fine, have it your way! I’ll send you out looking like you just got your first training bra, but I won’t be responsible for what people say.”

It’s not her, it’s not the colour, it’s the dress. Bad shape, tacky fabric. [blinks] OK, the colour is also horrendous.

The top half is workable. The skirt is dreadful. She is SO PRETTY. I don’t understand why she would choose this.

I’d DIE for those shoes! Love them!!! But, yeah, it’s like “Hey Leslie, Dakota Fanning called…”!

I think she’s regressing; maybe she borrowed it from that blogging kid of hers. If not, she needs to give it to her stat!

I saw her on the show and the camara could not stop focusing on her. She looked beautiful.
I think this picture does not do the dress or her justice at all. She was stunning in this dress. In a sea of dismal grays She was a flower.

Almost no one looks good in Pepto Bismol pink, not even tiny babies.

The dress also looks cheap, as if her grandma ran it up for her from a discount bolt of pink lace from Joann’s.

yeah, too young for her. and stiiiiill… she kind of looks awesome! look at her face! she’s having so much FUN, you can’t deny that she’s pulling this off

I think I love the idea of this, but it’s so bulky. She’s, like, the embodiment of “pert” and it’s completely weighing her down.
