Emmy Awards Well Played, Generally: A Sprinkling of Dudes

Let’s take a break from all the stress of gowns that are fug, or fab, or someplace in between, and instead do some cleansing ogling.

New York Fugshion Week: Day One in Celebrities

Well, we both caught a norovirus on the way to New York, so it was a deeply unglamorous start to the week. But at least there were was some non-naked Klum at BCBG, Alyssa Milano being the boss at Tadashi Shoji, and some Jonai at Richard Chai.  It was SO hilarious to watch these three posing together with their matching come-hither squints. Nothing is more assured to make me go thither instead.

Well Played, Men of the Star Trek Premiere

I’m doing the gents first this time, so as not to keep you waiting until the end of the day. But there is no Benedict Cumberbatch, Fug Nation. Call him Beneditch Cumberbatch, y’all, ’cause he didn’t attend.  Or if he did, I didn’t cumbercatch sight of it. Do we think he thanks his parents every day for not naming him Cu?

Met Ball Fug Carpet: More Olde-Tymey Melodrama

If Linda Evangelista looked like the cover of a book about Lady Jane Grey, fictionalizing that she lived and was whisked away to grow up in hiding in Scotland, or something, so she could come back and claim the throne from a position of strength, then several other people are apparently supporting players in that story. Was there a memo?

Mostly Fabs: The Men of Star Trek

I am kind of into the three-piece suit thing that’s happening right now. Thanks, Ryan Gosling!

Fugs and Fabs: The American Horror Story: Asylum Premiere

I’m impossibly excited for this to return, and will be very disappointed if it isn’t openly deranged; totally uneven, to the point where it’s both awful and amazing within the same hour; full of Jessica Lange and Chloe Sevigny going toe-to-toe on-screen, because they are two people who can turn pretty much any script into watchable TV. In fact, I like to think the Sev’s dress here is illustrative of the Ryan Murphy oeuvre: Compulsively watchable even when it might be a train wreck.
