Yeah, yeah, Charlize… but what you really want to see are Karolina Kurkova’s feet, because I DON’T UNDERSTAND.

Venice Film Festival Fug or Fab: Michelle Dockery and Freida Pinto

This is a photocall for something called “Miu Miu Women’s Tales,” which, per HuffPo, “is a series of six films commissioned by the Italian fashion house to combine ‘interesting cinematic themes and strong feminine points of view with fashion.” Apparently, several of the shorts are excellent — and they’re also a good excuse for actresses to pop over to Venice to wear Miu Miu and model great sunglasses. The Venice Film Festival has been brutal for my sunglasses fetish. STOP ME BEFORE I BUY ANOTHER PAIR.

Cannes: The Lightbox Purge

Cannes is STILL GOING ON, and it doesn’t end until Sunday, so before the big closing weekend it’s time for a quick sweep of the things that slipped through the cracks. First up: Nicole Kidman wearing the Valentino that Anne Hathaway rejected for the Oscars for reasons of ridiculousness (edit: Valentino says it’s not the same, but what’s funny is that it looks more like Seyfried’s dress to me than the actual rejected one). You can bleach your hair, Anne, but you can’t bleach your regrets (edit: I still stand by this).

Come for the Junior Knowles; stay for two fug favorites who MAY have left their signature nonsense at home. LADIES. CANNES IS NOT THE TIME TO CLEAN UP ONE’S ACT.
